Carreón Foundation scholarships can help YOU attend college or trade school and have a successful career.

Our scholarships are for students of ethnic minorities who aspire to higher learning and demonstrate qualities of good citizenship, leadership, and a commitment to giving back to their communities.

We invite all scholarship recipients to our Awards Banquet celebration at the beautiful Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. This annual ceremony is a most rewarding experience for not only the Awardees but also for your families, our scholarship partners, and friends of our Foundation.

At the Carreón Foundation our support doesn’t end with financial assistance. We also offer our scholarship winners post education job opportunities, training, and connections. Our track record of career referrals is unmatched by any other scholarship program in the Inland Empire or Coachella Valley.

ECV For Change

Spearheading a new effort in the Coachella Valley to enable recent and current college students to “give back” by mentoring current high school students in the Eastern Coachella Valley!

ECV for CHANGE is a sponsored organization under the Dr. Carreón Foundation. The goal of ECV for CHANGE is to empower the future of the Eastern Coachella Valley one student at a time through the following pillars: higher education, leadership development, and civic engagement. In December 2019, the Coachella Valley Unified School District unanimously voted to approve Eastern Coachella Valley for Change.

The ECV for CHANGE will serve as a 1-year mentorship program for current CVUSD High School Sophomores and Juniors. The mentorship will pair a current CVUSD student with a current college student or college graduate who was a former CVUSD student, or is a part of the Coachella Valley.

ECV for CHANGE will also provide additional services to the CVUSD such as: professional development and college application workshops.

Student FAQ

To apply, you must be of Mexican/American or other minority ethnicity. You must be enrolled in your senior year of high school in the Eastern Inland Empire, a 2- or 4-year college, or trade school. Applicants must also have a 3.0 GPA and be able to demonstrate financial need.

Applications open in December and close at the end of March.

To apply, you must submit a letter of enrollment, high school report cards or college transcripts, FAFSA, and an essay.

The Carreón Foundation offers scholarships of up to $1,000 for 2-year college or trade school programs, and up to $3,000 for 4-year post-secondary programs.

In addition to financial assistance, we often provide our scholarship winners with post-education job opportunities, training, and career connections.
